SCRIPTURAL PURPOSE OF INVOLVEMENT IN MISSIONS

We, as a church, endeavor to place evangelism to the lost, in whatever land they may reside or whatever state they are in, as the primary reason for our existence because of:

The commission of Christ: Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8

The constraining love of Christ: 2 Corinthians 5:14 and John 3:16

Our compassion for the lost: Matthew 5:43-44

DEFINITION OF MISSIONS

Any ministry that extends beyond the local sphere of influence of the congregation and its meeting place; whose primary aim is the proclamation of the Gospel, the salvation of the lost, the planting of indigenous churches, the training of disciples and the meeting of human needs to demonstrate Christ's love to the lost.

MAJOR GOALS OF NEW HOPE’S MISSIONS PROGRAM

SUPPLY...Updated information of those missionaries supported by the congregation.

STIMULATE...Prayer by the congregation for World Evangelism.

STRIVE...To increase financial support for missionaries.

SEEK...Recruits to respond to missionary opportunities.

SERVE...As a liaison between the congregation and the missionary and missionary agencies.
