I was born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1943, the oldest of 5 children. My sisters and I were raised by godly Christian parents, and I placed my faith in Jesus Christ and accepted His gift of salvation when I was 6 years old. Following graduation from high school, I attended Ohio State University and graduated in 1967 with the degree Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. While in college, I met Jo Ann Glaze when she came to Columbus from Galion, Ohio, to attend nursing school at Riverside White Cross Hospital. We were married 3 years later and, following my graduation from OSU, we re-located to Spokane, Washington, where I served 3 years in the U.S. Army as a Captain in the Veterinary Corps. Shortly after arriving in Spokane, we became members of Euclid Ave. Baptist Church and were soon involved in youth ministry, choir (Dick), AWANA, and teaching Sunday School. During my Army service, we had 2 daughters, Julie (in 1967) and Corinne (in 1969). They have been the joy of our lives, and both reside now in Oregon after graduating from Corban College in Salem. They are married and have given us 7 beautiful grandchildren. For the past 37 years, I have been a pet animal veterinary practitioner and currently own a pet animal veterinary clinic in Airway Heights. Jo Ann and I have been involved in many areas of church ministry, and I was on the elder board when we elected to re-name our church New Hope Bible Church and re-locate to the Spokane Valley in 1999. In addition to serving as an elder, I also lead a home group and am a helper in the Children's Ministry on Sunday mornings. I also enjoy music and drama ministries when the opportunities arise. The focus of my ministry has been to provide spiritual leadership and guidance to our congregation, to serve them in any way I can, and to support our Pastors to the best of my ability. |
